Cytosport’s Monster Intrapower Review

(Last Updated On: 01/02/2017)

CytoSport’s has released a new product in their Monster series called IntraPower. Monster IntraPower is designed basically give you more energy in the long workout session. It has 10 grams of sugar per serving so if sugar is not in your diet the Monster IntraPower might now be for you. Personally I wanted to try it out, and give people my honest opinion of it since it’s not your traditional supplement. Monster IntraPower is available in three flavors( Orange,Pomegranate Berry and Tropical Fruit) in a 30 serving container for about 25$ depending where you get it.

I am going to quote the write up from BB.com to save time and give you little more info on what’s in the mix.

Monster IntraPower’s blend of nutrients helps provide energy quickly and efficiently, promotes mental focus, and supports muscle integrity.1*

Multiple carbohydrate fuel sources
Monster IntraPower provides 16 grams of carbohydrates from multiple sources utilizing the body’s ability to transport and deliver energy (glucose, fructose and lactate) through unique pathways.*

Glucose from maltodextrin and cane sugar provides fuel for exercising muscles*

When consumed with glucose, fructose helps increase total carbohydrate oxidation rates*

Our proprietary, acid buffering fuel provides lactate energy for muscles*

L-Leucine and Leucine Peptides
Provides leucine to help trigger the mTOR pathway and promote muscle protein synthesis.*

Creapure® Creatine Monohydrate AND BETAINE ANHYDROUS
Supports muscle mass and strength.1*

L-Citrulline Precursor to Arginine, a nitric oxide generator.*

Supports mental focus, energy, and reaction time.1*

Help replace those lost in sweat. Sodium and potassium are critical for muscle contractions and supporting fluid balance.*

With all that being said and done, do you really need this supplement if you’re already taking a shake and pre workout supplements. Well that will depend on you, all we can do is share the experience and our thought on the product. My Monster IntraPower review is below.

I got the Orange flavor and I got to say it was too sweet for me. Taste like a melted creamsickle , I hope I spelled that right. Kind of like you would get with some pre-workout supplements.

Mixed fine in the cup, I did shake it every time I took a sip. You may notice some grit and a little foam but it’s not bad. I just did it as directed on the label.

Ok so I didn’t really feel it working. I take a solid pre-workout with the new Assault and this Monster IntraPower stuff is just a weaker version of a pre-workout supplement with some carbs added. I guess you can take this as and intra workout if you can’t afford the Xtend, but you probably won’t buy a second tub. Stick to Xtend for intra and you’ll be fine.

At first I thought the price was fare, but after taking it, I feel I blew 25$.

No love for the Monster IntraPower, but I am a fan of CytoSport’s and this in no way effects my opinion on their other supplements. It could have been that my Assault pre-workout is just to strong for me to notice the Monster IntraPower working but I just couldn’t tell. Maybe with if they up the dosage of the ingredients it would work better.
